Land to set up a plant nursery in each village was selected and sanction letters were given by each panchayat for the use of this land.

The nurseries sheds and fences were installed with bamboo and coconut leaves. The equipment for each nursery was purchased. The teams for each nursery were finalized.

A&D conducted the first training component on the 22 and 23rd March with CEE. The training was held on the CEE premises in Karaikal and focused on nursery management and economic perspectives. An exposure visit to selected sites was organized in the frame of this training.

A second training will be conducted by CEAD on the 12th and 13th of April. This training will be hosted in the CEE facility and will concentrate on the production through organic methods of different manures and pesticides.

The first VRC meeting was held on the 30th of March where it was explained to the VRC members of each village the work that had been done the past month as well as the plan for the month to come.
